PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ornament wherein a grain pattern of a high quality is patterned onto a surface of a plastic or metallic base body with a sliced veneer sheet, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: After applying an adhesive 30 to a base body 10 comprising a plastic or the like (the first process), the base body 10 is covered by the sliced veneer sheet 20 (the second process). Then, a pressure in a pressure reduction chamber 51 of a vacuum press machine 50 is decreased to stick the sliced veneer sheet 20 fast to the base body 10 and then bonded to the base body 10 while the sheet 20 is pushed onto the base body 10 (the third process). The sheet 20 is a colored sliced veneer sheet wherein after a grain pattern is thickened by dipping the sliced veneer sheet 21 thinned to, for example, 0.25 mm in thickness from natural wood by slicing into a coloring solution of being blended with a pigment, a rear face sheet 22 such as nonwoven fabric or the like is stuck to its rear surface.
