PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorber 31 for a steering device causing no disengagement of a lower shaft 15 and an upper shaft 16 from each other due to the vibration for a long time. SOLUTION: A lock member 21 is fixed to the lower shaft 15 by spot welding, and the lock member 21 is locked with the upper shaft 16 to prevent a fall of the upper shaft 16 from the lower shaft 15, and disengagement of both the shafts from each other is thereby prevented. Since the lock member 21 is formed of an elastic body such as SPS85 in JIS standard, assembling of the lower shaft 15, to which the lock member 21 is fixed, and the upper shaft 16 are facilitated.
