PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape take-up device and a method for uniformly taking up the tape into a coil shape other than a cylinder. SOLUTION: This tape take-up device 1a is provided with a core 20 rotating and taking up the tape 10, a tape feed part 12 feeding the tape 10 at a fixed speed, a dancer roller 30 disposed between the core 20 and the tape feed part 12, and a dancer roller displacing device 31a calculating increase/decrease of a take-up speed of the tape 10 due to the shape of the core 20 and a change in the outside diameter of the coil 11 wound around the core 20, controlling the motion of the dancer roller 30 based on the arithmetic result, and making it absorb the difference between the take-up speed of the tape 10 and the feed speed of the tape.
