PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flash butt welding method capable of effectively preventing a breakage of a welding part even if the method is applied to ferritic stainless steel. SOLUTION: An amount of upset at the time of flash butt welding operation is set to be more than twice as thick as a plate thickness of a welded material and further the welding part is heated by 850°C or more.
