PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for analyzing blood coagulation reaction, precisely catching abnormality in reaction first stage. SOLUTION: The method for examining blood coagulation comprises measuring blood coagulation time by detecting optical change of a blood sample varying with time, wherein the abnormality in reaction first stage is detected by setting a check point or a check region between the start of the reaction and the end of the coagulation reaction and monitoring the reaction state of the check point or the check region. The monitoring of the reaction state is such ones shown below. (1) Whether abnormality in reaction rate, when forming fibrin, exists or not (SLOW REACTION CHECK). (2) Whether the first stage reaction exists or not (START ANGLE CHECK). (3) Whether the drift in the coagulation reaction curve exists or not (DRIFT CHECK). (4) Whether abnormality in the time, from the start of the reaction to attaining the previously designed optical variation, exists or not (EARLY% CHECK). COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
