<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple electronic timer composed of an adjustable resistor, a super capacitor, and an electromagnetic relay. <P>SOLUTION: After a main power supply is interrupted, electricity given from a capacitor to a relay extends or actuates the operation of a load until the discharge of the capacitor is finished. By adding a resistor to other two elements, the discharging time of the capacitor can be changed linearly by the resistor and therefore the linear adjustment of delay extension and operation time is obtainable. The simple, well-designed, economical timer can be used for indoor and outdoor lighting and a safety system monitoring in the similar manner as starting a system. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
