<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pointing device where the structure of a sphere carrying part is made simple and fast, and any excess attachment is not required. <P>SOLUTION: This mouse device is provided with a ball part (204) including a sphere (206) and an encoder (205) and a base part (202) including a switch (203) and a signal line (201) and a recessed part (202b) in which the ball part (204) is housed.
