<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring influence on recording and reproducing signals when a fingerprint is deposited to the surface on the laser beam incident side of an optical information medium quantitatively and with good reproducibility and to provide the optical recording medium wherein wiping properties of organic stains such as the fingerprint, etc., stuck to the surface of the optical information medium is satisfactory and satisfactory recording/ reproducing properties can be maintained for a long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: Anti-staining properties and/or fingerprint adhering properties of the surface on the recording/reproducing beam incident side are evaluated by sticking an artificially prepared pseudo fingerprint to the surface on the recording/reproducing beam incident side of the optical information medium.
