PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cradle and a cradle system that can simplify operations for imaging, transfer and reproduction of an image or the like. SOLUTION: The cradle system is configured to comprise: an electronic camera 10 having an imaging means 150 for picking up an image of an object to acquire an image and a transmission/reception means 157 for transmitting the picked up image to a cradle 12; and the cradle 12 provided with a mount section for mounting the electronic camera 10, a camera detection means 259 to detect the mount of the electronic camera 10, a transmission/reception means 257 that automatically receives an image from the electronic camera 10 when the camera detection means 259 detects the mount of the electronic camera 10, and a means for recording the image received from the electronic camera 10 to a recording medium 277.
