PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abnormality inspection device and an abnormality inspection method of a rotor capable of finding accurately a crack or delamina tion generated in the rotor without requiring a complicated structure of the inspection device. SOLUTION: This abnormality inspection device of the rotor attached to machinery has a plurality of piezoelectric elements 1 arranged on the rotor, a slip ring or a telemeter 2 for transferring a signal between a rotary part and a non-rotary part of the machinery, an exciter 4 for exciting at least one piezoelectric element 1 among the plurality of piezoelectric elements 1, a detector 5 for detecting an operation signal acquired by the piezoelectric elements at the operation time of the machinery and/or a response signal acquired through the unexcited piezoelectric elements when exciting the piezoelectric elements at the inspection time of the machinery, a storage 6 for storing an operation reference signal and a transmission reference signal, and a signal analyzer 7 for comparing the operation signal with the operation reference signal, and a transmission signal determined from an excitation signal and the response signal with the transmission reference signal.
