Magnetic field (B) detector (1) comprises a magnetoresistive sensor (2) and two ferrite cores (4, 5), aligned on either side of the sensor, to increase the magnitude of the magnetic field across it. The invention also relates to a corresponding current detection module. The inventive device has a sensitivity of 10 milliteslas and is suitable for detecting a 200 A current flowing in a power bar.
