摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology for favorably performing rich spike control in an exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine provided with absorption reduction type NOx catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: This exhaust emission control device for the internal combustion engine is provided with the absorption reduction type NOx catalyst (hereinafter referred to as catalyst) 20, an oxygen concentration detection means 37 for detecting oxygen concentration in exhaust gas on the downstream side of the catalyst 20, a reducing agent supply means 28, a means 35 for determining reducing agent treatment performing timing for determining whether to perform NOx reduction treatment or not, a reducing agent amount control means 35 for controlling the amount of the reducing agent while raising temperature of the catalyst 20 when performing NOx reduction treatment, and a reducing agent amount correcting means 35 for correcting the supplied amount of the reducing agent for the next time based on the stoichiometric holding time when supplying reducing agent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
