PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently understand a large number of patent documents in a patent investigation by an interested party of research and development inexperienced in the patent documents, by efficiently referring to information for supporting understanding of the recording content by making the patent documents easily understandable. SOLUTION: This patent document understanding support system displays patent information, and is provided with the simple sentence forming function of forming a simple sentence of a field, a purpose, and a means of the patent documents, the code information referring function of adding and displaying meaning information by displaying IPC, FI, and a F term, the classification imparting function for classifying the patent documents, the keyword registering function of registering a keyword for a classification, the compatibility classification display function of displaying a classification candidate for the classification, the record display control function of controlling a record of the displaying patent documents on the basis of the classified keyword, the technical term reference function, and the link display function capable of linking and displaying whole sentence information of a reference patent.
