PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device wherein various problems in a PDLC display device can be solved. SOLUTION: Micro capsules containing a liquid crystalline compound cured by applying an energy ray or heat to a mixed material of the liquid crystalline compound and an energy ray curing or a thermosetting resin composition are dispersed in a binder to form a mixture. The layer of the mixture is formed on at least one substrate having electrodes for driving the liquid crystalline compound to obtain the image display device. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
