PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the downsizing in the axial direction of a motor fitted with a brush and prevent the drop of properties by forming a thin brush device. SOLUTION: In this brush device, the base of a brush is provided with a guide, and also a brush holder is provided with a cavity. In the cavity, one end of the winding of a coil-shaped spring is hooked to the base of the brush, and the other end is hooked to the brush holder. Further, the longitudinal direction of the coil-shaped spring is geared to the face direction of the brush holder, and the coil-shaped spring and the brush are arranged on roughly the same plane, in a condition that the winding part stands along the guide and the cavity.
