PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographing method and a photographing apparatus that are capable of photographing where the physical features of a personage of a subject are utilized. SOLUTION: In the photographing method for photographing a personage of a subject, elements for estimating the characteristic value of the physical features of the personage are detected, the characteristic value is estimated based on the detection result of the elements, photographing conditions for obtaining images where the physical features are utilized based on the estimated characteristic value are determined, photographing is made under the determined photographing conditions, and image data are obtained in the photographing method and apparatus.
