PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup signal clamping device capable of making a DC level constant even for a divided image with high resolution so as not to be affected by the temperature-dependent changes of a dark current and to provide an image pickup device and a solid-state image pickup device. SOLUTION: An image pickup element 11 comprises an image pickup area and a vertical optical black (V. OB) part that is a shade area in the vertical direction. The number of pixels of the image pickup area is four times the number of pixels of the HDTV system and the V. OB part is attached to the image pickup area in the vertical direction. A clamp circuit 19 applies DC clamp to the image pickup signal by using the DC component of a signal part for a period of the V. OB signal in the eight parallel image pickup signals obtained from a CMOS sensor 16 as a reference. The eight parallel image pickup signals subjected to DC clamping with the clamp circuit 19 are fed to a signal processing circuit 20, in which they are converted into video signals and outputted. Thus, the DC level of even the divided image with high resolution can be made constant through DC clamping in the vertical direction in this way. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
