PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device with which a user can perform communication with a desired communication device without necessity to perform complicated operations and without being bothered about the difference of communication paths or communication protocols or the difference of identification information corresponding to these communication paths or communications protocols. SOLUTION: A management table 14 holds catalog information coupling the specific number of any one of individual communication devices, the communication path and the communication protocol for enabling the communications in that communication device and the identification information to be used at such a time. When the communication device of an opposite party is designated, the catalog information corresponding to the communication device of the opposite party is searched in the management table 14. When a plurality of pieces of catalog information are searched, any one of the pieces of information is selected according to the prescribed priority. While using the communication path set in the selected catalog information, the communications are performed while defining the set identification information as the opposite party by the set communication protocol.
