PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a plasma display panel capable of providing an excellent discharge characteristic in the entire region of a discharge space by completely removing impure gas contained in a discharge gas introduced into the discharge space of the plasma display panel. SOLUTION: In a manufacturing process of the plasma display panel, a protective layer 3 formed of MgO is positioned in a non-display region part in the discharge space for introducing the discharge gas so as to face to the discharge space, bus electrodes Xb and Yb of row electrodes X and Y are extended from the display region to the non-display region of the plasma display panel to compose the coupled discharge electrodes for generating discharge in the non- display region part of the discharge space for introducing the discharge gas, and aging discharge is generated by applying a voltage between the discharge electrodes in introducing the discharge gas into the discharge space.
