PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a merchandise discharge device of an automatic vending machine with which a merchandise path can be stably locked in a closed state and such locking can be easily realized with comparatively simple structure. SOLUTION: The merchandise discharge device of the automatic vending machine is provided with: a frame 4 extending in the vertical directions; a stopper body 15 turnable between an approximately horizontal closing position for closing the merchandise path 2 so as to stop discharge of merchandise S1 to be sold and a front-down open position for opening the merchandise path 2 so as to allow discharge of the merchandise S1 to be sold; a stopper supporting member 21 extending backward from the bottom surface of the stopper body 15; a lock member 22 provided to the frame 4 to be movable in the vertical directions between a lock position for locking the stopper body 15 at the closed position by abutting on the rear end part of the stopper supporting member 21 and an unlock position for unlocking the stopper body 15; and a driving mechanism 7 for driving the lock member 22 between the lock position and an unlock position at sale.
