PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underwater pump which enhances motor efficiency, is embodied at a low cost, and allows easy and accurate locating of a bracket to hold each bearing part of a motor with respect to a motor casing. SOLUTION: The underwater pump is equipped with an upper bracket 35 formed through a press working process for holding the upper bearing part 57 of the motor 31, a plurality of overhung pieces 63 located at the peripheral edge and overhanging outward in the radial direction, and a plurality of inscribing pieces 65 protruding under them, wherein the overhung pieces 63 are fixed in such a way as to be pinched by a flange part 45 of the motor casing 33 and a flange part 75 of a motor cover 39. Location of the upper bracket 35 about the vertical direction and radial direction is established by the overhung pieces 63 and inscribing pieces 65. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
