PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toothed belt, in which tooth dimensions are accurately provided, having superior bonding force between a belt body and base cloth, a higher wear resistant property, and a higher tooth-breaking resistant property. SOLUTION: In the toothed belt 1 in which toothed portions 2 and tooth bottom portions are formed to be covered by the base cloth 5 on the belt body providing a plurality of tooth portions 2 along a back rubber portion 4 in which core wires 3 are buried, the base cloth 5 is cloths woven by a warp thread 6 as a non-crispated thread and a woof thread 7 as a crispated thread, and is also woven to a satin weave so that a warp thread 6 (non-crispated thread) entirely rises to one of front and back surfaces of the cloths so as to cover the surface of the cloths and a woof thread 7 (crispated thread) entirely rises to other surface of the cloths so as to cover the surface of the cloths. The surface of the cloths in which the woof thread 7 (crispated thread) is largely exposed is bonded to the tooth portions, and the surface of the cloths in which the warp thread 6 (non-crispated thread) is largely exposed is bonded to the belt body so as to touch with a pulley. Further, the base cloth 5 is formed so that the woof thread 7 (crispated thread) is aligned to a belt longitudinal direction and the warp thread 6 (non-crispated thread) is aligned to a belt widthwise direction.
