PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bristle material and a brush roll capable of polishing a rolling mill roll and a backup roll in a skinpass without fusing of the bristle material. SOLUTION: This bristle material of a polishing brush roll is formed of a resin fiber comprising a polyhexamethylene terephthalamide fiber as a main component in which particles of the polishing material are included.
