The invention concerns a method for generating geomatic applications. The inventive method is characterized in that it comprises the following steps: defining a descriptive file of a geomatic application in a format operable by a plurality of different Geographical Data Systems; selecting a particular Geographical Data System among the plurality of different Geographical Data Systems; translating the defined file in a language specific to the selected Geographical Data System.
