<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress seizure of a bearing while reducing the rotational resis tance of a rotary shaft by reducing the quantity and viscosity of a lubricating oil, and avoid disadvantages such as insufficient fatigue durability, load resis tance and rigidity of the bearing. <P>SOLUTION: In the rotary shaft 3 coupled to a bevel gear 2 of a final reduction gear 1, a portion distant from the bevel gear 2 and under a severe lubrication condition is supported by an angular contact ball bearing 6 easily ensuring lubricating performance, and another portion is supported by a tapered roller bearing 5 excelling in fatigue durability, load resistance and rigidity. A reduction in quantity and viscosity of lubricating oil for the final reduction gear 1 to an extent causing no seizure of the tapered roller bearing 5 can significantly reduce the rotational resistance of the rotary shaft 3. With the rotational resistance of the rotary shaft 3 significantly reduced, seizure of the bearings can be suppressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
