PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope apparatus which enables a user to observe the inner wall of a small-diameter pipe at a time by mounting the apparatus with an optical adapter for the endoscope without forming the optical adapter for the endoscope greater in the diameter and longer in the length. SOLUTION: A first lens 31 and illumination lenses 42a and 42b are arranged at the distal end face of the distal end optical adapter 9. An adapter side light guide 41 is formed to elliptic configuration provided with a plane portion in the mid-portion and is bisected mid-ways to a first light guide 41a and a second light guide 41b so as to correspond to the lenses 41a and 42b. Light guide fibers 45,..., 45 forming the light guide 41 are arrayed by rectilinearly forming the fibers 45L arranged in the positions apart from a horizontal line LH and bending the fibers 45H arranged successively in lamination so as to face directly upward in such a manner that the desired distributed light can be obtained.
