PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the number of fuel shutting-off cylinders when performing torque down control and to adjust an interval of change of the fuel shutting-off cylinders properly in accordance with a temperature condition of an engine when changing the fuel shutting-off cylinders at a fixed degree of interval. SOLUTION: An engine control unit 22 performs torque down control by controlling the number of fuel shutting-off cylinders and ignition timing retarder. It includes a rotation measuring means 223 for counting the number of revolution of the engine, a temperature condition detection means 224 for detecting a temperature condition of the engine, and a fuel cut rotation means 225. The fuel cut rotation means 225 changes the cylinders for shutting off fuel during torque down control per set number of engine rotations and adjusts in such a way that the set number is comparatively large while the engine is cold immediately after starting the engine and the set number is reduced in accordance with the rise of engine temperature.
