PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a hat without collapsing its shape by using a cloth material consisting of felt as a raw material. SOLUTION: This method for producing the hat is provided by using the cloth material consisting of the felt as the raw material, forming a cylindrical body 1 having a top part with a roundish shape and opened bottom part, pinching up the inside or outside of a suitable position of the roundish part of the upper part of the cylindrical body 1 as a line state, forming a reinforcing part 2 by sewing 4 the pinched up part, mounting the cylindrical body 1 on a wooden mold or metal mold from the lower part of the body and heating for forming for a prescribed time with steam.
