The invention concerns a method for bleeding a fuel vapour absorber in an intake manifold of an internal combustion engine with variable distribution, the engine operating in a first mode wherein the valve lift laws are variable and creating a slight depression in the intake manifold. The invention is characterized in that the method comprises: a step (203) which consists in estimating the load of the absorber, a step (205) which consists in comparing the estimated load with a first threshold (high_threshold); if the load is greater than the first threshold the engine switches into a second operating mode wherein the valve lift laws correspond to that of a standard engine with fixed distribution. |
