The procedure for making a foam component with a covering layer (2) over at least part of its surface, using a supple layer (4) of more or less the same shape as (2) and placing the two layers in a mould matrix before injecting a foam precursor and expanding, consists of applying a textile reinforcing layer (6) to the surface (7) of the supple layer (4) that will be in contact with the foam (5).
