PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device that can photograph a frame still picture without revising the settings of an electronic shutter when the high-speed electronic shutter is set. SOLUTION: When an electronic shutter is set to an exposure time shorter than a time for a mechanical shutter until it is fully closed in the imaging device with the mechanical shutter and the electronic shutter, the imaging device continues the exposure in a read standby state until the fully closing of the mechanical shutter is finished, the imaging device sequentially reads a video signal of an odd number field and a video signal of an even number field from a field next to the end of the field for read standby so as to prevent a luminance step difference between lines in a frame still picture composed from the video signal of the odd umber field and the video signal of the even number field.
