<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a file management system for collectively moving the contents of a selected folder to a specified folder with a simple operation on a GUI (graphical user interface). <P>SOLUTION: The file management system for managing a hierarchical file system comprises a folder designation means for designating at least one folder; a folder connecting means for moving all files in the designated folder to a folder as a connecting designation and deleting the original holder; and a connecting designation setting means for setting the folder of the connecting designation.
