PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an annular flexible segment which is for use in a shield tunneling method for constructing water supply and sewerage systems, tunnels, industrial water works, etc., and contributes to reduction of frictional damage between annular frame bodies and a propulsion bearing member thereof. SOLUTION: The annular flexible segment 1 is comprised of a pair of the annular frame bodies 2, 3 opposedly arranged in a manner being spaced a predetermined interval away from each other, an annular primary cutoff member 4 arranged between the annular frame bodies 2, 3 on an outer surface side of the flexible segment, and a thrust bearing member 6 arranged between the annular frame bodies 2, 3 and attached to main girder surfaces 2a, 3a formed on respective inner sides of the annular frame bodies 2, 3. The flexible segment 1 is characterized in that an abrasion resistant plate 9 is arranged in an area where the main girder surface 3a of the annular frame body makes contact with the thrust bearing member, and that the abrasion resistant plate 9 is formed of a high-density polymer or a metallic plate having lubricant-treated surfaces.
