PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide terminal equipment which can continuously be used by changing a key even if the key leaks to a 3rd party when a common key ciphering system is used. SOLUTION: The device has a key storage area 1 in which a plurality of keys are stored, a communication means 2 which communicates with an outer side through a network such as the Internet, a key managing means 3 which manages a key currently in use and changes the key in use when the key needs to be changed, an arithmetic execution means 4 which performs arithmetic operations on data for key authentication sent from a server requiring key authentication and the key that the key managing means 3 indicates, and a control means 6 which controls flows of various data. The key managing means 3 is provided with a means of changing the key of a terminal by being triggered by a failure in authentication when the server changes the key. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
