PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the durability of a rotor used for a step motor and elevate accuracy in the stop position of the rotor. SOLUTION: This step motor is equipped with a rotor 1 which does not shift axially but rotates circumferentially, and a column 7 which shifts axially but does not rotate circumferentially. A threaded shaft is fixed to either of them, the other is screwed to the threaded shaft, and the column 7 is shifted axially by the rotation of the rotor 1. On the end face of the opposite side of the above rotor 1 from the column 7, a step in a circumferential direction is formed and a stopper 6 is arranged. A lock 8 locked with the stopper 6 is provided on the opposite side of the column 7 from the rotor 1. The stopper 6 on the side of the rotor is formed of a stopper face 4 which is formed stepwise in the circumferential direction and stands in the axial direction of the rotor 1 from the end of an upper stage face 9a, and an R face 5 which joins the inner end of the stopper face 4 with a lower stage face 9b by a curved surface.
