PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a call only by designating a telephone number regardless of an IP address, to guarantee whether it is really the IP address connected with the user of that telephone number or not and to exclude 'impersonation'. SOLUTION: Simultaneously with a dial-up connection, the telephone number of an IP telephone terminal connected with a dynamically assigned IP address is registered in the gatekeeper. The authentication server performs the authentication based on the telephone number of a calling source in addition to a user name and a password.
