<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the large torque of a bar-shaped ultrasonic motor, by solving the problem of the low torque of the bar-shaped ultrasonic motor even though the bar-shaped ultrasonic motor, in which its swing movement is caused at an edge face of an oscillating body by an oscillating source formed by sandwiching a piezoelectric element by a pair of elastic bodies and rotation movement is caused by making a movement member pushed in contact with a swing oscillation face, even though it is small and has a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: By using an oscillating source formed by sandwiching a piezoelectric element by a pair of elastic bodies, a disk-shaped oscillation body with a diameter larger than the piezoelectric body coupled to the edge face of the oscillating source is resonated with oscillations at a specified frequency to generate traveling waves. By making the traveling waves caused the rotational movement to a mobile body so that the ultrasonic motor has large torque while the advantage of a small body and low cost is maintained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
