PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple retrieval system which informs whether a wanted person is in the vicinity. SOLUTION: A PHS terminal A comprises a retrieved-person telephone number storage A-2, a base station discrimination part A-5 which discriminates a PHS base station B, and a control unit A-10 which makes the retrieved-person telephone number storage A-2 store/delete a retrieved-person telephone number while transmitting the retrieved-person telephone number to the PHS base station B. The PHS base station B comprises a telephone number collation table storage part B-2 which makes the retrieved-person telephone numbers transmitted from the PHS terminal A correspond to the telephone numbers of the PHS terminal A and stores them, an in-area telephone number storage B-3 which stores the telephone number of the PHS terminal A in an area, a retrieval part B-4 which retrieves a specified telephone number out of the in-area telephone number storage part B-3, and a control unit B-10 which stores telephone numbers of all PHS terminals A in the area in the in-area telephone number storage B-3 and transmits the retrieving result of the retrieval part B-4 to the PHS terminal A.
