PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate increase in communication changes caused by continuous communication regardless of the presence of communication rejection by immediately disconnecting a line to interrupt the communication owing to the absence of malfunction by keeping executing a V.8 protocol when receiving a V.34 communication rejection-informed JM signal from a receiver in the case of supporting the V.34 communication by a transmitter, receiving an ANSam signal from the receiver in call origination, and transmitting a V.34 communication-specifying CM signal from the transmitter. SOLUTION: Facsimile communication equipment has: an ANSam signal receiving means for receiving the ANSam signal; a CM signal transmitting means for transmitting the CM signal; and a control means for interrupting communication upon transmitting the V.34 communication-specifying CM signal after receiving the ANSam signal and receiving the V.34 communication rejection-informed JM signal from an opposite receiver.
