<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery, which can improve the capacity variation originating in the various faults generated in the electrode manufacturing processes, and its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: The laminating of a positive electrode 21 and negative electrodes 22 has been carried out through gel-like electrolyte layers 23 and separators 24. The positive electrode 21 and the negative electrode 22 are manufactured by forming a positive electrode collector layer 21A or the negative electrode collector layers 22A, at first, after cutting out a metal foil to a predetermined width, by applying a positive electrode slurry or a negative electrode slurry on them, and by forming a positive electrode mix layer 21B or a negative electrode mix layer 22B by drying and pressing processes. At both ends of the width direction of the positive electrode 21 and the negative electrodes 22, a positive-electrode non-applied domain 21C and a negative-electrode non- applied domains 22C are formed, respectively. The width WP of the positive- electrode non-applied domains 21C is smaller than the clearance CE between the positive/negative electrodes, and it fills the relation of WP<CE. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
