<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp device wherein a temperature rise in a sealing part of a discharge lamp is suppressed and the discharge lamp is not burst, since a front glass blocking the opening of a reflector is structured so as not to reflect light toward the sealing part of the discharge lamp. <P>SOLUTION: In this discharge lamp device, the discharge lamp 1 having a pair of electrodes disposed in an arc tube 10 and the reflector 5 provided so as to surround the discharge lamp 1 are disposed, the front opening of the reflector 5 is covered by the front glass 7, and the discharge lamp 1 is housed in the reflector 5. The front glass 7 is flat while existing between the first focus point F<SB>1</SB>and the second focus point F<SB>2</SB>of the reflector, and is inclined from a surface perpendicular to the optical axis X of the reflector 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
