<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake structure of an engine which improves the distribution property of exhaust gas while suppressing an increase of whole height of the engine. <P>SOLUTION: This intake structure of the engine is provided with a surge tank 5 with which a plurality of branch intake pipes 4 connected with each cylinder are sequentially connected in the longitudinal direction, a throttle body 6 connected with one end side in the longitudinal direction of the surge tank 5, and an exhaust gas circulating port 5e opened in the surge tank 5 on substantially and just downstream side of the throttle body 6. A downstream end of a bypass passage 8 bypassing a throttle valve is connected with the other end side in the longitudinal direction of the surge tank 5, and a bypass air supply passage 12 extending from the connection to the vicinity of the exhaust gas circulating port 5e is integrally formed in the surge tank 5. Consequently, since the bypass air supply passage 12 is integrally formed in the surge tank 5, the whole height of the engine can be suppressed. Moreover, since bypass air is supplied from the vicinity of the exhaust gas reflux port 5e, the distribution property of exhaust gas for each cylinder is improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
