PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent, despite frequent formation of monochrome images, deterioration of parts relating to transfer and to reduce running costs. SOLUTION: In the image forming device 100 which has a photoreceptor drum 1 and a transfer drum 2 for holding and carrying a recording material and transfers an image in a transfer part 31 between the photoreceptor drum 1 and transfer drum 2, the transfer drum 2 can be brought into contact with the photoreceptor drum 1 and separated therefrom and has a resist roller 29 for carrying the recording material to the transfer part 31 while the transfer drum 2 is separated from the photoreceptor drum 1 and a transfer corona electrifier 55 for transferring a toner image on the photoreceptor drum 1 to the recording material while the transfer drum 2 is separated from the photoreceptor drum 1.
