PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a throat area measuring instrument for turbine nozzles which measures the length of nozzle throats and the height of nozzles simultaneously and automatically. SOLUTION: This throat area measuring instrument for turbine nozzles comprises: a laser supporting base 18 installed to straddle a diaphragm outer ring 12 and a diaphragm inner ring 13 supporting either side of a nozzle plate 11; a laser transmitter 19 installed at the laser supporting base 18; and sliding parts 16 and 17 enabling the laser supporting base 18 to slide along the diaphragm outer ring 12 and inner ring 13 in the circumferential direction.
