PURPOSE: Provided are test strips having a plurality of reaction zones and methods for using and manufacturing the same, thereby determining analyte, particularly blood analyte and more particularly blood glucose. CONSTITUTION: A test strip for determining the concentration of at least one analyte in a physiological sample comprises: (a) a plurality of reaction zones, wherein each of the reaction zones is defined by a hydrophobic barrier; and (b) a reagent composition present in each of the reaction zones.
