<p>Method of forming a shape-retaining closure at one open end, at least, of a tubular packing sleeve of deformable tear-resistant material, e.g. Cellophane (RTM), surrounding an elastic article to be packed which is liable to expand, esp. a menstrual tampon with a rounded insertion end, beyond which the open end of the packing sleeve extends, comprises the gripping of the projecting open end of the sleeve, on the inside and outside of the outer edge with the maximum retention of its diameter and subsequent formation of a re-entrant twisted-up neck by rotation of the packing sleeve coaxially with its longitudinal axis and formation of a flat rosette at this end.</p> |
