A cardiac rhythm management device is disclosed in which pre-excitation pacing is applied to one or more sites in proximity to an infarcted region of the ventricular myocardium. Such pacing servers to either prevent or minimize post-infarct remodeling. In one embodiment, pacing electrodes are incorporated into the periphery of a patch which can be disposed over the infarcted region. |
