PURPOSE: An electronic key for authentication, a control unit using the same, and a method for opening or shutting a door using the same are provided to perform an user authentication process by using the electronic key. CONSTITUTION: An electronic key(10) for authentication includes an input portion(11), a control portion(14), a transmission/reception portion(15), a storage portion(13), and an output portion(16). The input portion receives fingerprint information and various control codes. The control portion transmits the control codes to the control portion, compares the fingerprint information of the control portion with the fingerprint information of the input portion to perform an authentication process, and transmits an authenticated result. The transmission/reception portion transmits or receives various information. The storage portion stores the inputted information. The output portion outputs control signals.
