<p>Butt-welded frames of plastics or light metal profiles On at least one profile surface, transverse to the assembly surface, the width of the weld bead formed when the heated assembly surfaces are pressed together is laterally limited. The bead is then at least partly removed; a flattened rib may be left, or a flattened groove may be formed. Pref. an intercalated pair of bars are closely applied against the profiles; the front face of the bars are placed retracted from the assembly surfaces before welding to form an interstice parallel to the joint. At least one carriage moves one profile and its intercalated piece relative to the other during welding.</p> |
