Disclosed are compounds of formula (I) wherein L1 is derived from an ether (R<1¿-OR?2¿)¿m?, R?1¿ and R?2¿ being selected independently of each other and being derived from a hydrocarbon with 1 - 12 carbon atoms, and m represents a whole number of 1-4, or being derived from a hydrocarbon R having 1 - 20 carbon atoms; F represents an unsubstituted pyrene as a fluorophore; Q represents a quencher, and L¿2? represents C(O)-L¿1? or C(O)-L¿1?-NH, wherein L¿1? is defined as above. The inventive compounds can be used in order to determine the activity of phospholipase A2, especially PAF-AH.
